Sunday night’s show was mostly a joke. A political-musical joke.Yes, Britney Spears looked amazing, yes, there were many performing spots, but the show itself was really a big joke.

Russell Brand used his speech to convince people that Barack Obama is the right next American President, suggesting that “the retarded cowboy” (George W. Bush) was just a big mistake.

He also referred to the McCain-Palin pregnancy scandal, saying that republicans are the safest way to avoid a pregnancy. “Wear a condom or become a republican”, said Russell.

I still don’t see the connection between music and politics, but hey, it’s probably because there is no connection. But in America, everything is possible!

Russell also “joked” about the purity rings worn by the Jonas Brothers, and Jordin Sparks defended the boys saying “no everybody wants to be a slut”. I have to agree with her. America has enough problems with teenage mothers. That doesn’t mean every teenage should do what Jamie Lynn Spears did.

Anyway, I liked Rhianna‘s performance, Disturbia. Too bad she sang too little, but she compensated that with her dancing skills.

The Jonas Brothers were the best, I loved their performance.

Britney Spears had won 3 awards: Best Female Video, Video of the Year, Best Pop Video all for Piece of Me. I personally don’t think she deserved them but hey, they needed a star and all they got was Britney Spears. It’s ok I guess, at least she’s not a train wreck anymore, the way she used to be just a year ago.

Pink performed “So what” outside the parking lot, her performance was incredible. Fire, stunts, explosions and rock – she had it all.

Mommy, Christina Aguilera performed a techno mix of her biggest his, Genie in a Bottle. This way she promoted her upcoming greatest hits album.

Well, England it’s another country who has it’s own ghost stories. An expert in … ghosts made a map of the most spooky places in the United Kingdom. According to The Sun, the most frequently reported areas where ghosts have appeared are Edinburgh, Norwich and Oxford. Some people say they saw a ghost riding a bicycle, some say they heard a baby crying. Believe it or not, let’s find out some amazing ghost stories!

Belfast – a young lady is singing!

In 1912 a young singer died in a terrible way: she fell down the stairs. She was working in a tailoring and one day she died after falling down the stairs. Her name was Helena Blunden and everybody loved her. Helena used to sing all day and her colleagues loved that because every week they worked 60 hours and with her songs time seemed to pass easy.

One night she rushed out to leave work so she could get to a concert but she slipped and fell down. Helena crashed her head and died. Ever since the night of April 14, 1912 people believe that Helena’s spirit is haunting the building, in an attempt to find her freedom. Nowadays, the building is used as a printing house. People who work there have often reported that out of nowhere they hear a girl singing, a song that at some point is a cry for help.

Gloucester – the bishop who died for his beliefs!

It is said that the ghost of John Hooper, who was burned on a bonfire for his beliefs is still haunting the city, even though he died five centuries ago. In 1555, in Gloucester’s Westgate bishop John Hooper was persecuted by those who applied the regime imposed by Queen Marie of England, a catholic. The regime was very strict and it meant all other beliefs – like Protestant – were illegal and all those who won’t abnegate their belief will be severely punished.

Ever since, many people have reported to have seen the ghost of bishop John Hooper around his statue, rised in to honor the man who died for his faith! And the weird thing is that some people say they saw the ghost of Queen Marie, the one who sent John to death. She died three years after the incident. People say that the Queen’s spirit is still haunting the places as a punishment for John’s death.

Chester – haunted by Bernard Stewart and William Lawes!

Lord Bernard Stewart was one of the masters in the army of King Charles.

During a massacre from September 1645, 600 soldiers have died, including lord Bernard.

Ever since people believe that his ghost is haunting the Rowton Moor, looking for his peace! In the same area some locals have reported they saw the ghost of William Lawes, a musician from King Charles’s court.

Apparently, the ghost is playing calm songs he used to play for the King.

Exeter – ghost riding a bicycle!

Townspeople of Exeter say they saw a shadow riding a … bicycle! The two wheel vehicle is supposed to be a very old model and the person who’s riding it is a young men, who died while riding his bicycle in an Exeter passage. In that passage constructors were renewing the town’s draining system. Young Albert died after days of unspeakable agony.

Edinburgh Castle – the most haunted place in Scotland!

The legend says that a few hundred years ago a piper was sent to explore the underground tunnels which made the connection between the castle and Royal Mile. As he got deeper he started singing his pipe, so he could be easily tracked down.

Although some rescue teams started looking for him, nobody ever found him. Ever since the legend says that the piper’s ghost is haunting the tunnels and his music is heard in the castle.

Norwich – suddenly the temperature drops!

For years Magdalen Street no 19 has been know as the haunted address of Norwich. Once there was a pub, now the building is home to three different businesses. Employees have reported that, from time to time, some strange things happen: the cups fall down from the table without anyone touching them or the typing machines type letters without anyone being near the typing machine. After some research, historians have found that at the first floor of the building, in the old time, there was a pub, where a young waiter, Sara, was killed by the owner of the pub. The reason: she didn’t want to have sex with the clients!

Some employees have said that sometimes the temperature drops without anyone touching the heat system of the building.

York – a baby is crying!

It is believed that one of the man who was supposed to take care of orphans who lived in a orphanage in York, in the 19th century, had little concert about the kid’s welfare! He didn’t feed them properly, used the kids for his own purposes and soon many children starved to death. Panicked, the man is supposed to have locked the little bodied in a closet. Some time later, remorseful, the man got mad and without thinking at what he was doing, he got a knife and killed all the children he was taking care of. Ever since, people say they constantly hear screams of horror, baby crying and yelling …

Oxford – mistress of the King!

Rosamund Clifford, a nun famous for her beauty, was the secret lover of King Henry II.

The two sweethearts met, without anyone from the court knowing, in a maze din Godstow, in Trout Island.

Unfortunately, one day the Queen found out about the King’s love affair and, jealous, forced Rosamond to poison herself, right after she committed to become a nun.

It is said that the ghost of young Rosamond is haunting the place ever since. Nowadays, there’s a beer house renowned for having a ghost as a special guest!

Of course I’m talking about Mariah Carey, the pretty butterfly of the American music industry. Elle Magazine has put Mariah on the cover of their latest edition.

Although everybody is excited about Mimi’s latest music album, E=MC², I’m sorry to say but I really don’t like her latest hit, Touch My Body. For me the song is too childish (and so is the video) but hey, who am I to critic her work.

Anyway, she looks fabulous at 38 and it seems that her marriage is working swell. At least they appear to be happy.

According to People.com Nick is thrilled about his marriage with gorgeous Mariah:

“Marriage is amazing. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me”

The former senator is a prominent right to die campaigner who advised Bettina Schardt about how to prepare a lethal cocktail of sedatives and malaria drugs, things that would lead to her death.

Roger Kusch taped about 9 hours of the conversations with the healthy 79 years old pensioner. The thing that made Bettina think about death was the fact that she was horrified by the thought of being put into an elderly facility. She has never been married and has no children.

“I can’t say that I am suffering.” said Bettina

As you all know German people are very sensitive about Nazis and the horrible things that happened in the concentration camps so the euthanasia issue is also a very sensitive subject for most of the German people.

According to the German laws it is illegal to help a person commit suicide but Kusch cannot be charged with helping Bettina to die because he did not administrate the lethal drugs. He just advised her. In some German states some senators actually want this suicide right to be legalized. The first country which legalized the euthanasia issue is Netherlands (2002). It is also legal in Luxembourg and Belgium to commit suicide if you’re suffering from a terminal disease.

This is the hilarious part: the senator himself released some video extracts of his conversations with Bettina during a news conference on Monday.

The German Health Minister, Ulla Schmidt responded to this suicide assistance:

“What Mr. Kusch did was macabre propaganda which has nothing to do with politics”

And this is not the first time Roger Kusch talked publicly about suicide. Earlier this year the Hamburg senator came up with the idea of building a “suicide machine” useful for patients who want to inject themselves with a lethal cocktail of drugs.

I can’t help from wondering: if you’ve got cancer, you’ve got only 1 month to live, you’re in dreadful pain and you decide to take the lethal cocktail drugs is the Church going to bury you? I know some religions have some strict rules about killing yourself and priests refuse to bury a person who’s committed suicide.

Is really God’s will for you to suffer until the last moment?

Anyway, I read about Zac (22), the youngest (the cutest) Hanson brother and his wife, Kate (24) who are proud parents of a baby boy.

The two are going to name the baby Shepherd.

“I am so overjoyed. [...] There is not an audience or concert that could ever stand up to the feeling of meeting your baby for the first time.” People

The other Hansons have kids: Taylor (middle child) and Natalie have 3 kids: Ezra (5), Penelope (3), River (1 year and 8 months) and Isaac (older brother) and Nikki have one child Everett age 1.

It’s funny how the cute Hanson boys are now the Hanson men with kids and family responsibilities. I wonder if their kids are going to form a band (something like The Kelly Family) and sing about love and friendship.
