Elisabeth Taylor - then and now

Jul 2, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Hollywood, lifestyle, love, movies, woman stuff

Elisabeth Taylor is one of my favorite actresses. She was born in Hampstead, London, England on February 27 (like my best friend) 1932 and that makes her 76 in 2008. She had won 2 Academy Awards for Butterfield 8 (1960) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf (1966)

Her first appearance in a movie was in Lassie Come Home (1943), at age nine.

Love Life

Elisabeth is also known for her many marriages. Her first marriage was at age 18 with Conrad Nicky Hilton, grandfather of Paris Hilton. The marriage lasted only a year.

Then she married again but with Michael Wilding. This time the marriage lasted for 5 years.

Soon after divorcing Michael she married another one named Michael Todd. This marriage lasted a year. Amazing!

After a year of bachelor Elisabeth married Eddie Fisher who was her husband for 5 long years. In 1963 she met Richard Burton, her partner in Cleopatra to whom she cheated on Eddie. She was even accused by a Vatican newspaper of having descended into “erotic vagrancy. The two divorced and soon after Elisabeth married Richard. He was Liz’s hubby for 10 long years. In 1974 the two got divorced so they would marry again in 1975, a marriage that lasted only a year. No doubt they loved each other but could not stay married.

Then Liz met John Warner to whom she was married for 6 years. Her last marriage was with Larry Fortensky, from 1991 to 1996.

Nowadays Elisabeth Taylor may have lost her looks but she’s still one classy woman. Unfortunately, she’s got diabetes and that’s really a torture.  Perhaps her lifestyle got to her eventually :)

Quotations

“Big girls need big diamonds.” speaking about her passion for jewlery

“I adore wearing gems, but not because they are mine. You can’t possess radiance, you can only admire it.

“I am a very committed wife. And I should be committed too - for being married so many times.” - she got that right :)

I don’t think President Bush is doing anything at all about Aids. In fact, I’m not sure he even knows how to spell Aids.” - speaking about politics and health care

“I really don’t remember much about Cleopatra. There were a lot of other things going on.” - well, she obviously was busy with Richard Burton :P

One of my favorite comedians, George Carlin has died Sunday night. He was 71. George was having some heart problems and it seems that the cause of death is his heart condition.

George Carlin will remain one of the greatest American comedians this world will ever know.

May God rest his soul in peace!

Jamie Lynn Spears has a baby girl

Jun 20, 2008 Author: admin | Filed under: Britney, baby, love, movies, woman stuff

Jamie Lynn Spears baby bump According to Yahoo and The Associated Press Britney’s young sister, Jamie Lynn finally gave birth. She is now the mother of a baby girl named Maddie Briann and weighs 7 pounds and 11 ounces.

“Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to Maddie Briann on Thursday morning at a hospital in Mississippi, the magazine said.

A high school student who lives in Louisiana, Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly met the father, Casey Aldridge, the son of a Tennessee paper mill worker, at church. The couple are engaged, People magazine said.” Reuters

I bet Jamie and Casey Aldridge are now thrilled about having a baby. Now they can say goodbye to all those quiet and peaceful nights, and try to find as much patience as they can to deal with the responsibility that comes with the new born baby.

And now all that we can do is sit and wait to see if Jamie is going to go crazy like Brit did. I really hope Jamie learned something from her sister and that means she’s not going to refuse the support from her familyto get past that post natal depression. A woman who just gave birth needs encouragement and someone beside her.

Pregnant Billie Piper

The former Doctor Who actress, pregnant with her first child is craving for Greek food. That’s a good sign. It means she’s doing great and her pregnancy is perfect.

Billie Piper and husband Laurence Fox got married last year and are happy about having their first baby.

Hubby Laurence is cooking moussakas, salads and meze, Greek food.

Hmm… yummy!

It’s a bit odd that so many celebrities are going to be parents this year. It’s like some sort of a pipe broke and celebrities just got pregnant.

Anyway, although I’m not pregnant, I’m also craving for Greek food. Unfortunately, the Greek restaurant is not open yet so I’m going to have to wait a few hour more.

According to The Daily Mail, Jessica Alba has given birth to a baby girl.

Hollywood actress Jessica Alba has given birth to a baby girl, according to reports out of the US.

The 27-year-old, who married her long-time boyfriend Cash Warren three weeks ago, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Jessica and her husband, Cash Warren are now parents.

Good luck and may God give you a lot of patience, you’re going to need it.

I hope magazines won’t fight for the first pictures of the new Jessica Alba baby, or at least they’re going to donate the money to kids who really need them :)

Next month Nicole Kidman’s baby is expected to come and, who knows maybe even Angelina’s twins.
