“Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.” - Oscar Wilde

Another sad story in Hollywood! After Sydney Pollack’s death, the Great Ripper felt the need to take another star: Harvey Korman.
Four months ago Harvey suffered a rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm and last night he died after some complications from the rupture. He was 81.
Harvey had won 4 Emmy Awards for his contribution to “The Carol Burnett Show“. He gained attention with his appearance on “The Danny Kaye Show”. The most memorable film role of Harvey Korman was as the outlandish Hedley Lamarr in the 1974 Western satire “Blazing Saddles“, directed by Mel Brooks.

Sydney Pollak, the famous director, producer and actor has died on 27 May 2008. He had won an Academy Award in 1985 for Out of Africa (starring Meryl Streep) but for the last 10 months he was fighting a cancer. Last August he was forced to withdraw as a director of an HBO movie due to some health problems.
The Tootsie actor was diagnosed with cancer about 10 months ago but doctors couldn’t determine the primary source of the dreadful disease.
Sydney Pollack was born in Indiana in 1934. As a young man he used to work as an acting coach and TV director before his directing debut with The Slender Thread in 1965.
He directed movies with Barbara Streisand, Meryl Streep, Robert Redford (The Way We Were), Tom Cruise (The Firm) and Dustin Hoffman (Tootsie). I think I saw at leas half of his movies and still can’d
May God rest his soul!
Britain has lost another actor: young Rob Knox was deadly stabbed in front of a club in Sidcup, Kent. The 18 years old actor was trying to protect his brother, Jamie but was deadly injured. The fight left three of Rob’s friends with serious knife injures.
Rob Knox plays the Hogwarts student Marcus Belby in the forthcoming movie “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince“, the sixth part of the Harry Potter series.
Fortunately a man was brought in for questions. His name is Karl Bishop, currently unemployed from Sidcup will appear at Bexleyheath Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. He is charged with murder and wounding five other people.

I hope Rob will find his peace in Heaven!
I have nothing to add! These guys have said it all!
A couple of weeks ago I told you about Hayley Wilde, the woman who defeated anorexia. Well, unfortunately not all the ladies suffering from this dreadful disease were as lucky as Hayley was.
Rosemary Pope, a professor, weighing less than 5 stone had died after torturing herself with a diet of sweets and coffee. She was just 49. Due to her strict diet for over 30 years her heart shrunk to the size of a child’s.
Since 2006 Rosemary was working as a Pro Vice Chancellor at Bournemouth University and she managed to hide her disease for over 30 years, but a few months ago her body began to fail.
In the beginning of 2008 Rosemary contracted norovirus, a stomach virus which affected her even more than anorexia. She became thiner and thiner and soon she collapsed in her house.

A US hospital worker has leaked informations to newspapers regarding Farrah’s health. The former Charlie’s Angels lawyer, Kim Swartz said that Farrah (61) is not giving up, she’s fighting with her cancer and she’s not ready to die, as some have said.
She’s fighting for her life. It’s disturbing to her when there are false reports that she’s given up and wants to die, when the opposite is true. She’s a strong person and a fighter
The actress has been declared cancer free in February last year (2007) but unfortunately after a few months, the horrible disease has returned. Before Farrah got to tell the bad news to all her family the news was out in the tabloids. It’s just wrong to do that.
Farrah Fawcett is a great actress but she has the right to have a personal life. I wish her all the best in the world and hope she’s going to win this battle with colon cancer.
Born on this day:

1930 - John Allen Astin (78) - American actor, best known for Gomez in The Addams Family. Ah, cherie …
1937 - Warren Beatty (71) - American actor, producer, screenwriter, director, husband and a father of 4. Does the name Dick Tracy ring a bell to you? Ask Warren more about Dick.
1945 - Eric Clapton (53) - British singer, guitarist. He’s also known as Slowhand by the way he plays the guitar.

1853 - Vincent van Gogh - the famous Dutch Post Impressionist painter was born. He died in 1890. Famous for The Potato Eaters
What happened on 30 March back then:
1858 - Hymen Lipman patented the pencil that had an eraser attached to the other end. Wow, that pencil revolutionized the media. The journalists were now able to write and erase their stupidities!
1867 : the state Alaska was purchased for $7.2 million by United States Secretary of State, William H. Seward. All the media called this event the Seward’s Folly. He got himself a nice piece of land. (ironic!)
1981 - President Ronald Reagan was shot in the chest outside a Washington hotel. The shooter was John Hinckley Jr. I think that all the maniacs and serial killers live only in America!
I feel the need to comment upon this subject! Maybe the Quran is talking about killing and destroying the enemy (I don’t know, I’ve never had any interest in reading it) but I don’t think that we should blame only the Arab terrorists for the 9/11 events.
Anyway, I’m not a religious person and I find it stupid to kill someone in the name of religion! If you look back in history you’ll see how many atrocities people committed in the name of God. It’s stupid!
Yes, people feel the need to believe in a higher presence, in something spiritual and powerful but I think religion is about manipulating people and brain washing!
Born on this day:
Aretha Franklin - 1942. When she was born her mama told her she’s the real Queen, not that rock and roll singer, Tina.
Elton John - 1947. I wonder what was he like in childhood. I bet he wished all sorts of colorful glasses for his birthday! I for one, love his music!
Marcia Gross - 1962. The Desperate Housewives star is turning 46 years old today.
Sarah Jessica Parker - 1965. Was she the cutest kid from her block? Cause now she is like the most unattractive woman alive.
Jason Castro - 1987. He’s so young. And he made it to American Idol.
Katharine McPhee - 1984. She made it to finalists on the fifth season of American Idol.
This day is important because an American serial killer Gerard John Schaefer, was born.
He’s been linked to around 30 missing women and girls and has been condemned for two life sentences. Unfortunately for him, he was killed by his cell colleague, Vincent Rivera. Vincent didn’t want to tell the motive for stabbing Gerard and was sentenced to 53 more years in prison that were added to his 20 years he was already doing for double murder. And the rest is history! I guess that this guy was a muse for many script writers.
