Hello there, Orphanannie. Please read the whole phrase and you'll see that I mentioned that a woman in her 50's is still a woman, and that means that she's still sexy, gorgeous and vibrant. But on top of that, she's wiser and more confident about herself. She knows she's not a toy or a piece of jewelry. Buy your own clothes if that's what you want. Why does the granny issue scare you? I loved my grannies, I thought they were more than women, and I think that their husbands did too.
I just don't understand why are you upset about. Ok, I admit my English is not perfect (after all is my second language), I have some typos that I was too lazy to edit but the stuff from the article are good ideas for a gift. I got mails from at least 3 people telling me that this article helped them in buying gifts for the ladies in their lives.
If you don't like it, you're free to disagree just please don't stumble my words.
Have a great day :)

I might suggest a bit of judicious editing...the grammar needs a bit of work. And a little less sexism and ageism. A woman in her 50's is like a granny?!? Please...give us a little more credit. 50's women are vibrant, beautiful, and yes, even sexy. Even if some of us may be a grandmother, categorizing us across the board as old and is not flattering or representative. And many women want more than just baubles, clothes, and shoes. I prefer to buy my own, thank you.
