“Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.” - Oscar Wilde
The contest took place Friday, 18th of July in Troxy Centre, London.
The new Miss England 2008 is ….
…..
A girl who’s size zero looks like death? Being “curvy” like her is healthy? In a couple of years you will surely change that mentality. She’s pretty, has a very pretty face but her body is fat not curvy. Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez are curvy (at least Jennifer was curvy before her pregnancy). Even Jennifer Love Hewitt is curvy, being a size 2. Heck, even Mary J. Blidge has a curvy body.
Having a fat belly doesn’t make you curvy, it makes you fat and that’s dangerous for your health.
Anyway, I wish Chloe a lot of success but I really hope she won’t be taken as a role model.
Her name is Hayley Wilde and she’s been fighting anorexia for 8 years. Last month Hayley gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Michael who weighed 7 lb 14oz and is perfectly healthy.
Hayley is from Blackpool, is 20 years old now and she loves her body but in the past she suffered from a terrible modern disease : Anorexia Nervosa. In the following picture you can see the devastating effects of anorexia : Hayley weighed a bit over 5 stones when she was 16 years old.
Her problems started in secondary school. She started to skip meals and hide food because she thought being skinny would make her more popular. Since Hayley was 11 she and her family has been fighting anorexia. Because of her condition doctors told her she could have only ten days left to live.
For many months Hayley was hospitalized, she was fed through a tube and had no periods for 4 years. Thanks to proper medical care and lots of support and love from parents and friends, she slowly managed to defeat anorexia.
The happiest moment was last year when Hayley and her partner discovered she was pregnant.
I had to eat a normal diet, for my baby. I was eating healthily because of him. I like to be thin, thinner than I am now, but I don’t want to go back into hospital. I don’t want to be like that picture again. Daily Mail
Hayley is training to become a teacher and with the help of her family has set up a support group, Fighting for Freedom with Anorexia Nervosa.
For all of you ladies out there, find a balance in your life. Being happy is not about being skinny or being fat. It’s about loving your body and enjoying life. It’s wrong to be obsessed with your body.
The first teenage beauty queen to break the patterns by becoming the first size 16 queen is Chloe Marshall. She made it to the finals of the Miss England beauty contest.
She’s 17 and she’s proud of her size 16. Chloe won the Miss Surrey title and now she’s ready for Miss England finals. She revealed her shapely body in a photoshoot and she’s confident that people are going to love her in July.
Chloe is not anorexic nor uber fat but she knows she’s got what it takes to win that beauty contest.
“It’s what I was born to do – posing for the camera. And as I keep saying, I love my body. People seem desperate to get me to say that I don’t, that deep down I’m not happy and would rather be thin, but the fact is I wouldn’t change myself at all. Do I have fat days? Of course, but what woman doesn’t! [...] I’m a size 16, I eat well, I exercise regularly – I jog, swim, and work out with weights. What I am promoting is a healthy girl who looks after herself and doesn’t try to force her body to be something its not. [...] Everybody thinks you have to be a tall, slim blonde and I’m a curvy brunette. I want to show it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard size zero.” - DailyMail
Chloe is from Guildford, signed up with Models Plus agency, weighs 12st 8lb, is 5ft 10 tall and has a 38 DD bust (many women would want a bust like that but on a slim body).
I can’t shut up! I think she’s big for her age! She shouldn’t promote the idea “I’m fat and I’m gorgeous”. Obesity is a serious matter and obese people should know that and try to lose weight.
If she’s this big at 17, how is she going to look at 25? People, being fat is not gorgeous! It’s risky! It’s not great being anorexic either. We should cherish our bodies and try to find a balance in what we eat and how much we exercise.
I wish Chloe all the best in the world but if I were her, I would definitely try to lose some weight!
It’s almost Christmas, you know that time of the year when you’re allowed to eat a lot and all your heart desires. Well still there are beauties that don’t care about their health, they’re all about looks. “OMG, I forgot to puke after I ate this mornin’; My ribs are not as visible as her’s, I wonder what’s her secret?!”
I really don’t understand why models should be this skinny. Come on! She can barely keep her legs together, her ribs are too visible and she’s got no ass and no breasts. She’s formless! (more…)
