“Women are meant to be loved, not to be understood.” - Oscar Wilde
The murder case of Elodia Ghinescu seems to have a solution : a baker man came up with the idea of baking a cake named Elodia. The cake has the form of a swamp and from the middle of the swamp the hand of Elodia rise up and on a finger is written the name of her husband, Cioaca, suggesting that she’s going to leave him if she’s ever going to be found. Well the cook was inspired because many people booked a “Elodia cake” that is going to be for sale only on Christmas time. Hmm … delicious!

For the last 4 months Romanian police is searching for a lady lawyer lost without a trace from home. Apparently the lady had no reasons to run away from home, she just gave birth to a baby boy, Patrick, she had a successful career and a joyful marriage.
Well things are not the way they look. In August 2007 Elodia Ghinescu wasn’t available on the phone, at home or anywhere. Her husband couldn’t tell where his wife is, her parents knew nothing about her and her colleagues contacted everybody she knew hoping to find her.
She was 39 years old. I’m using the past tense because after 4 months of searching Elodia, the police failed in finding her or at least any trace of where she is. The interesting thing is that Elodia’s body is still missing but her husband, Cristian Cioaca is accused of murder, even without a body.
Rumors has it that Cristian Cioaca killed his wife because she was about to leave him for a secret service officer to whom she had a love affair for a few months.
The case is far from being solved. Cristian Cioaca is a police officer and lately he’s been having too many psychological problems. He said he’s suffering of depression since her wife is missing, skipped work and refused to collaborate with the investigators.
Police had performed a search for Elodia’s body in different places : swamps, lakes, bluffs, even other cities around the country. Still nothing.
Another problem is the murder weapon. The investigators don’t have a clue about the murder weapon and besides, the motive is not very clear.
Last month Cristian Cioaca revealed to the media his wife’s personal emails. Unfortunately he’s accused of violating his wife private mail even though those mails revealed the fact that Elodia was about to leave Cristian for another man.
The funny thing is that the accused husband tries to prove that he’s innocent by adding the movie “Fracture” to his defense. In the movie, Anthony Hopkins, plays the role of a jealous husband that kills his wife and frames it to a police officer involved in a relation with the victim.
In Elodia’s case Cristian says he’s the one being framed and asks for justice. This interesting murder case is far from being solved and most likely Cristian Cioaca will be accused of murdering his wife and dumping the body.
