Haha – too funny – Brit, you’re a dumbass. What do you think the Kentucky Derby hats look like? If you think these “heinous” hats are just a British thing, think again – it’s part of the tradition of the derby and ascot. This is just like that time last October that all those kids started showing up at my door wearing all these stupid costumes. Did they think I really believed that was a ninja on my doorstep? Or a witch? Real ninjas are much taller! Witches don’t even exist! Stupid children dressing up. What were they thinking? I can’t believe their parents let them out in public like that.

Hey at least the women are wearing dresses! Geez, we are such a jean society… and so what if they have a big booty… at least it isn’t a bag of bones… oh yeah, and the hats… they are fun… a different culture… here in the U.S. we look stupid when ball caps are worn sideways.. oh that is really fabulous and took a lot of effort.. oh and how about the stupid ass baggy pants… or womens guts hanging over their low rise jeans… maybe they should put on a dress.
Keep wearing the hats ladies…. it is comforting to know a lady still dresses like a lady in this world somewhere. I’m thankful I have eyesight to see such color and difference.

Although I must say that I think Zara Phillps looks hideous in that outfit. Its not the hat that looks bad though its the skirt and blouse…..really unflattering.

hey sam, perhaps you and “a” should get married and wear heinous hats to the ceremony. relax… this article is supposed to be funny, and youre going all “politically correct” on it and sticking up for this horrid tradition. yes, it is tradition, yes it is often a display of over the top ugly hats. the point of the article is to show how wacko us brits can be and how funny these hats are.

go buy one of these hats at a flea market and revel in the fact that youre actually the ignorant one.

Poster A really was right, you are showing a tremendous amount of ignorance. The hats aren’t worn to the market to buy groceries, they’re worn as tradition to a specific event, they’re meant to be loud, extravagant and over-the-top, it’s a bit of fun! No the royal family do not normally dress like that and anyway Royal Ascot isn’t just for the royal family, all women admitted to the inner enclosure must wear hats and many outside of this area join in the spirit also.
At the end of the day how many celebratory outfits can you point to that don’t look a little silly taken out of context..a santa suit in august? The loud “patriotic” clothing of 4th July celebrations ?(yes dressing like a giant flag does make you look ridiculous and no painting your face to match doesn’t help you pull it off any better!)

And commenting on the size of someone’s behind really is juvenile.
