Critic’s Choice Awards 2009 – Winners
Thursday night everyone gathered at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium where it was held the 14th annual Critics’ Choice Awards. More than 200 TV, radio and online critics were there to judge the best movies from 17 categories . Last night “Slumdog Millionaire” has won five awards for : best picture, director, writer, star and composer.
Another movie that was very appreciated by the jury is The Dark Knight (great movie and great role for late Heath). The movie won trophies for best action movie, best supporting actor – Heath Ledger.
Among winners:
Sean Penn – best actor honors and acting ensemble for Milk.
Kate Winslet – best supporting actress for “The Reader”
Anne Hathaway & Meryl Streep – best actress for “Rachel getting married” and “Doubt”.
Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen – best song for “The Wrestler”. Unfortunately, he missed the ceremony.
Richard Gere – the Joel Siegel award for entertainer’s humanitarian efforts.
Wall-E – best animated feature
Tropic Thunder – best comedy.
Losers: The Curious case of Benjamin Button which was nominated for 8 awards and won none.
