Atkins – lose weight or lose health?
I think that most of us heard at least once about losing weight with Atkins. Recent studies have shown that the most efficient diet is based on proteins and fats. Nevertheless the diet cannot be a long term diet because it leads to serious health problems.
The proteins have 2 major advantages : you don’t get fat because of them and accelerates the process of loosing weight. Also don’t associate proteins with large quantities of glucide or lipid. They are hard to digest and the organism is forced to consume more and more energy to process them.
About the danish diet, based on meat, nutritionists say that it’s the diet that changes the metabolism. Well, this is only half true because only during the diet the metabolism is accelerated.
Now let me tell you something about proteins. The main problem of proteins ts that you cannot find them pure in nature, only in combination with glucide and lipid. When it comes to food you should know that eggs contain the highest percentage of protein. Beaf meet, fish and rice also are rich in proteins.
For those who want a diet based on proteins it is recommended to follow that diet only on a short term -2 weeks tops. Also it’s important for you to be healthy when you’ve decided to go on a diet.
If you follow the protein diet for more that 2 weeks you must know that your health is in danger. Throat disease are very often occurred when purine is excessively consumed. Or worse, you could lose the muscular mases. That means that Atkins is not a balanced diet.
In a few words, it’s a good way to lose some pounds but only if followed for a short while.
